“No Crybabies” Growler Design Contest
UNVEILING PARTY SET FOR DECEMBER 3
Come celebrate the unveiling of the 1st Annual “No Crybabies” Limited Edition Growler Design Contest.
Monday, December 3 at 7pm at aromas [craft works] in Five Points (otherwise known as Aromas Wine Bar).
Yep we did it! It wasn’t easy because we had a lot of terrific submissions. But we’ve selected the 3 finalists, which of course includes the winning design. To all of the honorable mentions, thank you for taking the time to come up with your own original idea.
As a matter of fact, the 2012-13 Limited Edition Growler is already printed and in Athens. We invite all contest participants to celebrate with us.
We’ll have $1 drafts, a specially tapped keg. Bring your friends for a casual but fun evening.
Remember, the winning entrant will receive a cash prize of $300, a $100 Gift Certificate to Five Points Bottle Shop or 5 Points Growlers. The two second-place winners will each receive gift certificates with a $50 value to be used exclusively at Five Points Bottle Shop or 5 Points Growlers. Each of the 3 finalists will receive a swag bag.
All contest participants will receive a free (but empty) Limited Edition Growler to take home.

PURPOSE STATEMENT
The purpose of the first Annual No Crybabies Growler Art Contest is to recognize the artistic achievements of area artists through the fun and exciting world of craft beer. The Art Contest is open to artists in the Athens Area.
The fun of it is to be able to take the Crybaby by itself (without the Bottle Shop circle or background if necessary) and put it in any situation or setting that might warrant crying, but, of course, would not be allowed. Like depicting the Crybaby dangling over a pit of hungry alligators. Colors of the Crybaby can be changed also.
Overview
Artists may submit multiple entries in the contest. The winning entrant will receive a cash prize of $300, a $100 Gift Certificate to Five Points Bottle Shop or 5 Points Growlers. The two second-place winners will each receive gift certificates with a $50 value to be used exclusively at Five Points Bottle Shop or 5 Points Growlers. Each of the 3 finalists will receive a swag bag.
Winning art may be used in print materials and displayed at the discretion of the Five Points Bottle Shop. Submitted artwork may be featured on the Five Points Bottle Shop, 5 Points Growlers and Aromas Wine Bar website and in promotional materials.
All entries must be submitted online at 5PointsGrowlers.com.
All entries must be submitted between Wednesday, August 15 and Sunday September 16, 2012 before 11:59 p.m.. September 16th is the official close of the contest. Entries uploaded after this date will not be considered.
ELIGIBILITY
All participants must be 21 years or older as of September 16, 2012.
Five Points Bottle Shop, 5 Points Growlers, and Aromas Wine Bar employees and their families are not eligible to enter the contest.
THEME
All artwork must be original and pertain to the theme “No Crybabies.”
The following elements must be included in the artwork:

All items will be provided by Five Points Bottle Shop as an eps file and can be downloaded from the 5 Points Growlers Contest website.
ORIGINALITY
All artwork must be original and pertain to the theme “No Crybabies.” The artwork can be the entrant’s original hand-drawn creation scanned into digital format or electronically generated artwork.
The entrant’s signature on the entry form is an acknowledgment of the originality of the art.
GUIDELINES FOR ARTWORK
- Artists may submit multiple entries in the contest.
- All entries must be submitted print-ready, as a digital file in one of the following formats:
- Adobe Illustrator version CS5 or earlier (ai files or true eps),
- Corel Draw version 15 or earlier (cdr files or true eps),
- Photoshop files (300 dpi or better).
- Maximum print area is 5 inches by 4 inches.
- Maximum colors is 4 colors.
- A JPG version in 72 dpi must accompany the original artwork for usage on our website.
Entries that do not comply with the contest requirements will be disqualified.
JUDGING CRITERIA
The entries will be judged according to the following criteria.
- Does it reflect the craft beer industry design style
- Does is express the Crybaby in a clever manner
- Does it make the jurors fall in love with it
JURORS
Winning entries will be selected by a panel of 5 Points Growlers jurors, including, but not limited to a local brewer, local beer entrepreneur and local craft beer lover. By signing the consent form, entrants agree to abide by the rules and regulations of 5 Points Growlers and acknowledge that in the event of a disagreement, the judges’ decisions are final. Jurors have the right to exclude any work from consideration in the contest.
RECOGNITION
Two finalists and the winner will be announced at the 1st Annual No Crybabies Growler Design Contest unveiling party at Aromas Wine Bar on Wednesday, November 14. The winning design will be unveiled on the official 2012/2013 Limited Edition Growler. The two finalists design will be exhibited in printed form. Artwork that is not selected as a place winner may be included in the 5 Points Growlers Contest Gallery at 5PointsGrowlers.com.
5 POINTS GROWLERS:
- is not responsible for loss or damage to entries;
- reserves the exclusive right to authorize the reproductions of all entries in any and all forms, including, but not limited to: prints, calendars, greeting cards, fact sheets, brochures, fliers, posters, exterior wall paintings etc., and to photograph the winning designs without compensation to entrants;
- has the right to use the winners’ names for promotional purposes without compensation to entrants;
- will not return entries.
The Five Points Bottle Shop Crybaby and the 5 Points Growlers logo are the property of Five Points Bottle Shop and 5 Points Growlers, respectively, and cannot be reproduced without permission for any purpose in any shape, form or derivative thereof, other than the 5 Points Growlers “No Crybabies” Growler Design .
